Digital Billboards Remind Southland Drivers that 'Buzzed' Driving is Drunk Driving
The ads are part of a partnership between Clear Channel and the Ad Council.
Digital billboards throughout the Southland will remind drivers during the New Year's holiday that "buzzed" driving is still drunk driving and to make responsible choices when drinking, it was announced today.
The effort results from a partnership between Clear Channel and the Ad Council aimed at raising awareness and saving lives.
"Even just one too many drinks can impair a person's driving ability and lead to devastating consequences," said Michael Auerbach, the Ad Council's executive vice president of media. "Buzzed driving is drunk driving. We want to encourage those who are enjoying the holiday season to make responsible choices that don't endanger themselves or others."
To get the message across, Clear Channel Outdoor is donating space on its 86 digital billboards throughout the region.
"Digital billboards are an incredible resource that can deliver timely, resonating messages," said Lee Ann Muller, president of Clear Channel Outdoor's Southern California division. "While it is a sobering message to deliver to drivers during the holiday season, reminding the millions of drivers on the road to make responsible choices when consuming alcohol is critical and Clear Channel is proud to help deliver that message."
